Miriam Wilson was dead at the scene. Malachi Armstrong was arrested at the scene. She was crossing the street. He was driving a car. She stepped into the street. He hit her with his car. She is placed in an ambulance. He is placed in a squad car. They go their separate ways. Until now.

Introducing the story Malachi Meets Miriam: At the intersection of fate and destiny.

By Malachi Armstrong with Ulysses “Butch” Slaughter

On the morning of November 16, 2015, Miriam Wilson, a 38-year-old mother of three boys, stepped into the street at 54th and Woodland in Southwest Philadelphia. Malachi Armstrong, a 23-year-old contract driver, accidentally struck the woman leaving her dead at the scene.

Malachi served four years in prison. He served four years on probation. But none of his time served will bring Miriam back to her children. None of his time served will make up for such a great and painful loss.

So what will he do? He will serve Miriam's children.

Malachi Meets Miriam: At the intersection of fate and destiny is a story heartbreak and hope, loss and discovery. Malachi cried in court when called to testify. He apologized for his fatal mistake. But words and tears are not enough for him now. Today he wants to show how much he cares. He wants to openly honor the memory of a woman he never knew. Her family may not accept his offer. But he has no choice but to try.

Follow the inspirational story of Malachi Armstrong as he rises from the searing ashes of human imperfection into a fragile space of human sacrifice.
